Kseniia Kolesnikova, an interior and product designer, envisions Glass House as a long, rectangular dwelling nestled between two mountain peaks. Elevated above a lake by a set of pillars submerged in the water, the building is constructed from sections of cargo containers mainly covered in expansive glass panels, seamlessly integrating the raw and otherworldly scenery into the indoor living areas. Inspired by aged fishing structures, Kolesnikova adorned the exterior with a weathered metal coating.

Elements for Achieving a Japanese-Inspired Color Palette in Your Home

The inside of Glass House by Kseniia Kolesnikova showcases a cohesive color scheme of sand and terracotta, utilizing natural stone (marble, travertine) and wood as the primary materials. The layout is divided into three sections: a kitchen-living area with a tea corner, a study, and a central bathroom, as well as a bedroom with an attached bathroom. The two distinct sections seamlessly blend with the surrounding mountain landscape, fostering a connection with nature that transcends the windows and permeates the entire living environment. The bedroom features sand floors that evoke traditional Japanese gardens, along with a Japanese-style lantern hanging in the tea zone.
